The band has only been formed since late 2006 , and are currently making headway in the local music scene (check out the gigs page). After only a few practices we all knew the chemistry was there and we all have such a good laugh together that it never seems like work at all. The four of us chose the name one Sunday afternoon and became Spartan (well before that 300 film hit the cinema) , it could have been a lot worse anyone remember No Place , No Through Road and The Hamsters of Doom (still like the sound of that) ?. We invested in a new p.a. system and lighting rig and started forming a set to gig with. We try many different styles and songs and they all have to pass the Spartan test before we consider them as potential material, if the audience enjoy listening to them as much as we enjoy playing them we consider those songs Spartan-ised.
